Eddie 9V has an endless stockpile of cool stories – and you’ll find twelve of them on his most recent studio album Saratoga, released in November 2024 on the fabled Ruf Records label. A thrilling mix of Southern soul, blues, rock, and funk, Saratoga proved to be a gamechanger: a road trip-ready record filled with razor-sharp observations, vintage textures, and raw humanity. It also marked a major career milestone: Eddie 9V’s soulful sound began reaching hundreds of thousands of new fans across the globe.

Now signed to Easy Eye Sound — the Nashville-based label founded by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys — Eddie 9V is preparing to release a brand-new album in 2026. And the momentum keeps growing. Since Saratoga dropped, Eddie’s monthly listeners on Spotify have exploded from 8,000 to peaking at over 800,000.. Songs like “Halo,” “Saratoga” and “Love Moves Slow” have become SiriusXM Spectrum-certified tracks, gaining steady spins and major audience love.

But this rise is years in the making. From the day he first slung a guitar on a local Georgia stage, Eddie 9V (born Brooks Mason) has been an artist to watch. First cutting his teeth in cover bands and regional blues circuits, he made the leap to full-time frontman with a name that couldn’t be ignored. “I wanted to start from scratch – and I ain’t never heard of no bluesman named Eddie 9V.”

That leap paid off. His early albums Left My Soul In Memphis (2019) and Little Black Flies (2021) turned heads for their wild energy and vintage flair. 2022’s Capricorn was a breakout moment, earning rave reviews from Classic Rock, The Guardian, and more. It debuted at #1 on the blues charts before being dethroned by Bonnie Raitt — “a cool story to be able to say,” Eddie laughs.

By the time Saratoga arrived, Eddie 9V had evolved into a full-spectrum songwriter, tapping into deep wells of soul and storytelling alongside his brother and longtime collaborator Lane Kelly. Much of the album was recorded at their Echo Deco Studio in Atlanta, with some sessions at Denver’s Crown Lanes Studio. From the disco-tinged horns of the title track to the fuzzed-out dreamscape of “Delta,” it’s a record that widened the lens without losing the grit.

Now with a major label partner, national tours, SiriusXM airplay, and streaming growth that shows no signs of slowing, Eddie 9V is poised for the next chapter. A new album is on the horizon. The band is sharper than ever. And if Saratoga was the ignition, what’s coming next is the open highway.

“I’m already writing new songs,” he says. “You never stop.”

Eddie Bush has been hooked on playing the guitar since age 4 when his father traded a set of golf clubs for an old acoustic. From that point forward, making music became his heart’s primary desire. His passionate, unending drive and innate musical talent had this self-taught, guitar-slinging singer/songwriter performing original material at a school talent show by the age of 13.

Eddie became a veteran of the Southeastern music scene with multiple CD releases to his credit before taking it to the national level in 2005 with his Infinity Nashville debut CD, Eddie Bush. The disc produced the Billboard Hot Country Single “Hard To Stop A Train”, as well as a video of the tune, which earned rotation on several music related TV channels, including Great American County (GAC).

The momentum built from “Hard To Stop A Train’s” unexpected success led to the attention of Nashville notables, and by 2006 Eddie had become a member of the harmony group One Flew South, created and produced by GRAMMY® winning hit songwriter Marcus Hummon. The band was featured on the soundtrack of Disney’s The Fox & The Hound 2, and signed to Decca Records/UMG in November the same year. One Flew South’s full length disc Last Of The Good Guys produced the top 40 Billboard Hot Country Single “My Kind Of Beautiful” as well as its popular video, recently named in the top videos of 2008 by GAC.

Eddie has performed at major events throughout the U.S., including Farm Aid, the Newport Folk Festival, Country Thunder, CMA Fest, and the B.R. Cohn Festival. He has toured with GRAMMY® winning guitarist Eric Johnson as well as Phil Vassar, .38 Special, Julianne Hough and Rusted Root. He has shared concert billing with some of today’s biggest artists, including Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Little Big Town, Jimmy Buffett, Dave Matthews, John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Writing songs and theme music for other artists, commercial businesses, and television has become an added focus in Eddie’s ever developing career. In 2014, he took his writing to Music Row in Nashville, signing with Blue Guitar Music. A prolific songwriter, Eddie has been commissioned to write songs for various efforts, including: Fraternal Order of Police fund raising (“The Thin Blue Line”), corporate education giant Edison Learning’s motivational anthem (“The Power Of You”), and theme music for the national TV show on Fox Sports South, A Piece Of The Game.

Eddie wrote or co-wrote the vast majority of songs featured on his 20 releases as well as One Flew South’s Last of the Good Guys. Eddie has co-written with legendary songwriters JD Souther (many Eagles’ hits), Marcus Hummon (“Bless The Broken Road”, “Cowboy Take Me Away”, “Born To Fly”), Mark Hudson (Aerosmith’s “Living On The Edge”), Eliot Kennedy (multiple Spice Girls’ hits), Billy Mann (Pink) and a host of others.

In 2018, Eddie released his 19th album, “Love That Remains The Same Volume 1”, a 15-song effort that features a haunting version of the classic “Wichita Lineman”, the first single from the record, “Better Than This”, and 13 other original pieces.

In 2020, Eddie released his 20th studio album, “The Next Right Thing”, an epic 18 songs, and Eddie’s finest songcraft to date. It includes co-writes with hit writers Craig Wiseman (lead off single Come Alive), Marcus Hummon (Used To Love This Town), and Amy Foster (Brokedown Girl).
